- Gather at VT STEAMspace at Vermont Teddy Bear with other like-minded Makers enthusiastic about building, creating, inventing.
- Learn electronics and coding with – MaKey MaKeyⓇ and Scratch, with option to acquire items you may wish to continue working on at home.
The What
Beginner MakerCamp
July 9-13, 2018
- Make a Guitar with MakeyMakeyⓇ: “…an invention kit for the 21st century. Turn everyday objects into touchpads and combine them with the internet. It’s a simple invention kit for beginners and experts doing art, engineering, and everything in-between.”
- Scratch is an open source coding language, developed at MIT MediaLab that “helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively.”
- Participants may choose to integrate their creations into video expressions that can be filmed and edited to include sound and animations.
- Both an imaginative and creative outlet for vacation fun AND a structured opportunity to use building tools and follow a progression of skill-building.

- Make a Keytar with littleBitsᴛᴍ. “This electronic instrument uses a winning combination of synth modules starting with a keyboard, moving through 2 oscillators, the envelope, the filter, the delay, and ending up with the speaker! While Learning to Code with Code Kit App
July 23-27, 2018
- Design a guitar with simple materials and littleBitsᴛᴍ, making it easy to play simple songs with your computer.
- Learn how to use inputs/outputs, text or images, sound, logic and loops in your code.
- The coding environment is a computer-based app, compatible with Mac, chromebook, and windows. After creating your code with Google Blockly, you’ll transmit it to your inventions wirelessly.
- Create, play, remix + share your guitars.
